Recruitment

We are currently looking for volunteers to fulfil the roles below. Each role has a short description to go with it. If you are interested in becoming part of the team by fulfilling one (or more) of these roles, please send an e-mail to fukawi2@archserver.org

Documentation Writers

Documentation is key to the success of the ArchServer Project. We are in need of people willing to write static documentation for the site http://docs.archserver.org. This documentation is designed to be similar to the Arch Linux Beginners Guide, covering the basic installation and configuration of ArchServer. It is to be considered to be official documentation, as opposed to the community contributed material available in the wiki. No requirement of web design or HTML etc is required as the site uses an easy-to-learn CMS package.

Developers

We need people experienced and capable to maintain packages, including the following tasks:
  • Patching; applying patches from upstream developers to fix bugs and security issues.
  • Back-porting; if patches are not supplied for a version of the software we still support, then the patch needs to be back-ported from a newer version of the software.
  • Packaging; maintenance and testing of packages in our repositories.

Web Designer

Someone who is experienced in web designt to assist with our Bug #42, as well as streamlining the management of our multiple websites from a design point of view (front site, forums, documentation, wiki, bug tracker, repository, IRC logs, git web interface). Design should be in-line with our Graphic Charter.
